Commissioner Chris Jackson Posts Strong Numbers In District 10 Signature Campaign

7.27.2010

Today, the Department of Elections (“DOE”) announced that Chris Jackson's District 10 campaign had collected 904 signatures, including 802 valid signatures from registered voters in District 10.

Signatures in lieu are gathered by supervisorial candidates to offset the $500.00 filing fee.  Gathering signatures is widely seen as a show of campaign strength, and although Jackson was one of the most recent candidates to enter the race, his numbers far exceeded his fellow candidates.  He came in second to his closest competitor by a margin of 154 signatures.  No other candidate made it past the 500 mark.
